  My wife and I ate here for the first time. Staff was very friendly, but the food was below average. My wife had the biscuits and gravy, the biscuit was hard, the gravy tasted store bought, not homemade. Her silverware had food on it as if it hadn't been washed. I had the "BBQ" brisket sandwich, french fries, and "BBQ" baked beans. The "BBQ Baked Beans" was Van Kamps pork & beans, no BBQ sauce, and certainly not oven baked. The "BBQ" brisket had no taste at all. No smoked taste, no wet sauce, no dry rub, just bland. Service, and atmosphere I give 5 stars. Food quality I give 2 stars.

  Shorty's is our go-to for an outstanding breakfast. The Bluegrass Special is my favorite - two scrambled fresh eggs, country diced potatoes and a choice of sausage or bacon. It also includes freshly baked biscuits and a choice of white country gravy or delicious chocolate gravy - try it and you'll be hooked. My husband raves about the Western omelette. Shorty's also serves excellent barbecue. Order the onion rings - they are exceptional! The service is warm and friendly and the entire restaurant is very clean. When we go to Shorty's Barbecue, we always know we're going to be greeted by smiling faces and served delicious food.
